This weekend was a busy one. Lots going on and lots of important things going on! I celebrated my first Mother's Day thanks to Emily Claire Kornahrens. I don't know exactly what it takes to feel like a mother. I saw lots of cute posts on facebook about things that mean you are a mother. And I have done a lot of them now..like had a baby lay on my chest....had a baby spit up on me, etc. But it still seems so surreal.
Also because I was more concerned in getting ready for my mom and Paul's mom, I did not focus on the day for me as much. I am used to doing Mother's Day for other people. It was kinda surreal to have it include me this year. But Emily gave me a precious silver keychain with her birthstones decorating little baby shoes with her nickname and birthdate engraved on them. She did good! (Paul said he caught her with his credit card.) It was a great day to celebrate being a first time mom and those moms in our lives.
