I have been doing a bible study with some ladies from Grace Church. The study, Ezer, has been a challenging one in many ways. It is about how as women we are designed by God to invite, nurture, and partner and how those roles also become corrupted.
I often come home and tell Paul that I am thankful for him after attending the study. This is often because the women in the group share of struggles in their marriages and previous marriages. They say the things we are learning are things they wished they had known when they got married. Now don't get me wrong, I am learning too. But I tell Paul that I am thankful that we were prepared. I know we can never be prepared enough...but I often think that we were intentional and sorted through a lot before getting married.
This week we talked about partnering and how it is coming together for a common mission or goal. Well as of lately, our common mission and goal has been raising Emily Claire Kornahrens. But it made me think of our partnering in that goal has been a beautiful thing and brought us together as even more of a team. We are able to see each others strengths and allow each other to do those things in our daily tasks. We compliment each other's weaknesses. I laugh as I think about how my afternoon and evening consist of Emily and all that she entails, while my husband comes home and cooks dinner. I always joke and tell him he is such a good wife:) But in all seriousness I don't know what I would do without his partnership and his ability to come along side me and do this daily life thing well.:)
